Aaaarrrgh, Mateys! The Tortuga Tavern Was Great!

Staurday night saw pirates?and freebooters?gathering in the Dome to celebrate its enclosure and raise funds for the windows and doors. The party brought in $980, of which a couple hundred went for the portapotty, decorations, etc. (No Ardantane funds were spent on alcoholic beverages--all were donated.) PLUS a generous donor couple has pledged to cover the cost of an entire window!

The party featured great decorations, seafaring music, super costumes at the Pirate Fashion Show, swashbucking, Pirate Trivia contests, the Dread Pirate game, lovely tavern wenches at the bar with mojitos and Shipyard Ale and more, Pirate-Card divination readings, pizza by the slice, and etcetera.

Festivities were presided over by Captain Lavenderbeard (Amber) until she was forced to walk the plank, and replaced by Captain Crazy Katie (Azrael).

Many thanks to all those who put it together: Vicente, Bob, Michelle, Kim, Cedar, F-lar, Lessa, Anya, Rowan, aaarrrgh, and all the others me rum-fuddled brain be forgettin' at this early hour.?

Who knows, maybe the Tortuga Tavern will return next year!

Next step: We have some leads on possible free doors, though even if we get them, installation may cost something. We need heavy-duty exterior doors, glass, with frames, crash bars and closing hardware. If you know of any (from demolitions, conractor overstock, etc.), please let Azrael know at 505-469-3307. We can also trade interior doors for them.
