Fundraising
Got an idea for a fundraising event, such as a garage sale, car cleaning,
bake sale? Contact _publicity at ardantane.org_ (mailto:publicity at ardantane.org)
, and we'll advertise it here.
Right now the bank owns most of Ardantane's land: 25 acres in the gorgeous
Red Rocks area of northern New Mexico’s Jemez Mountains, with National Forest
on two sides.
By raising $120,000 we can pay off the bank mortgage and save about $60,000
in interest over the next few years. Once we buy out the remaining staff
shares (interest-free!), then the whole thing will belong to Ardantane, Inc. –
and to all of us in the Pagan community, and to our children, and our
descendants.

What: Plant Medicine: Spring and Summer Herbs
Sponsor: School of Healing Arts
When: Sat-Sun May 12-13
Where: Ardantane
Instructors: Connie Henry & Amy Immel
This is first of 3 classes in plant medicine. These 3 classes will focus on
our western heritage of use and growing of herbs for medicine and for food.
This class will specifically focus on our spring & summer herbals: cooling
summer herbs, detox herbs, soups, teas, baths, and cooling sprays. We will
dialogue about the history of herbal use involving many western cultures with a
rich source of self-care and ritual through out the ages. Seasonal herbs will
be covered in the Materia Medica as well as herbal identification, storage and
preservation. This class is a part of the Healing Arts certificate program.
The written Standards of Practice for the Healing Arts Herbalist will be
reviewed. There will be further discussion of how these Standards contribute to
the basics of an ethical herbal practice. Each class in Plant Medicine will
stress aspects of plant medicine for the home, for self-health, and to
assure that information will exist for future generations to come.
Connie Henry ND, CPH, RN, CADS is an Integrative Aromatherapist, a Certified
Professional Herbalist and as well as a mental health and substance abuse
nurse. She has her B.Sc. in Clinical Nutrition and is a Doctor of Naturopathy.
She is dedicated to an integrated health model of body, mind, spirit, and
place. She is a Healing Touch and Cranial Sacral Therapy practitioner. She
most recently received her Certification as an Auricular Detoxification
Specialist. She teaches Herbalism and Aromatherapy at several schools in
Albuquerque, NM and supervises practitioners in both clinical herbal medicine and in
