Fundraising
Got an idea for a fundraising event, such as a garage sale, car cleaning,
bake sale? Contact _publicity at ardantane.org_ (mailto:publicity at ardantane.org)
, and we'll advertise it here. (see above for an example)
Right now the bank owns most of Ardantane's land: 25 acres in the gorgeous
Red Rocks area of northern New Mexico’s Jemez Mountains, with National Forest
on two sides.
By raising $120,000 we can pay off the bank mortgage and save about $60,000
in interest over the next few years. Once we buy out the remaining staff
shares (interest-free!), then the whole thing will belong to Ardantane, Inc. –
and to all of us in the Pagan community, and to our children, and our
descendants.

What: Mindful, Magickal Communication
Sponsor: School of Pagan leadership
When: Sat-Sun Jun 9-10
Where: Ardantane
Instructors: Scott Lamont
Conflict is a natural part of all relationships, even among individuals and
groups with very congruent goals and values. This practical workshop will
build upon basic principles of communication, attentiveness, and attunement to
provide information on how create and maintain sacred space for effective,
mindful communication within a framework of Perfect Love and Perfect Trust. The
focus will be on conflict resolution, the clergy role, and applying pagan
principles and cosmology to the intricate art of hearing and being heard.
Concepts relevant to mediation and consensus decision making will be introduced.
Sharing of personal experiences and insights is encouraged, and participants
will have hands on time to work with the tools and techniques discussed through
role play and exercises. Prior completion of the "Basics of Communication"
course or its equivalent is recommended.
Scott Chisholm Lamont has been a lifelong pagan. First called by the Goddess
in the foothills of the Canadian Rockies as a young teen, he has been
exploring and expanding his magickal skills in healing, environmental and political
activism, and community building ever since. A Wiccan Priest in the West
Coast Eclectic Tradition, he has taught at the coven and community level, as
well as for Ardantane. He is the High Priest of the Circle of the Winter Moon,
and a nursing educator at UNM Hospitals. A certified mediator and trained
consensus facilitator, he is currently working on a teaching resource for the use
of consensus by formal organizations. He can be reached at
fireheart at thuntek.net.
