Our Lady of the Woods will be celebrating Imbolc on Sunday, February 4th at
6pm at the Los Alamos Unitarian church. This year's ritual will focus on
rededicating and recommitting our inner selves to the Goddess and the Earth.
Directions to the Unitarian Church: Take US 285/85 north from Santa Fe (St.
Francis Drive). Follow the signs to Los Alamos. At the traffic light on the
corner of Trinity and 15th (Los Alamos Urgent Care) turn right on 15th.
Turn left on North Sage, at the Masonic Temple. The Unitarians are between the
Masons and the Mormons on North Sage.
>From the OLW website --
Imbolc is a time of new beginnings and initiations. It is sacred to the
goddess Brigid. Common themes of this sabbat are renewing commitments and
focusing on goals, recognizing the natural cycles of nature with the birth of the
lambs, dedication or rededication to a spiritual path or purpose, dedication of
ritual tools, and performing all types of cleansing, from your house to your
inner self. Many Imbolc rituals feature the goddess Brigid, who was a triple
goddess of healing, smithcraft, and poetry. A potluck feast will follow the
ritual.
Our Lady of the Woods is a Church and Coven of the Wiccan faith serving Los
Alamos, Santa Fe and the northern Espanola Valley. It is led by Mist, the
High Priestess. For more information on a specific event, directions to events,
or Wicca in general, call 672-1278, or visit our website at
