[Ardantane Herald] Ardantane Land Fund Hits $32K--WE DID IT!

ARDANTANE HERALD
 
FIRST LAND FUND GOAL REACHED: $32,000!
 
As many of you know, we have a long-range goal of raising $120,000 to pay off the bank mortgage and secure Ardantane for the Pagan community--forever!
 
The FIRST PART of that goal--raising $32,000 in 2006--has been ACHIEVED, just a few days into the new year!
 
Throughout the year, generous Pagans have rallied to give what they could. Contributions ranged from $10 to several thousand dollars Big contributions came from the Covenant of the Goddess, the Chamisa Local Council of COG, AzureGreen, Touchstone Local Council of COG, and several individuals. But many people responded, and you all "own a piece" of Ardantane now.
 
The turning point came a couple of nights ago, when Azrael and I stopped by to pick up a $50 contribution from Tanya and Therese, Ardantane Board members and owners of Giggling Springs in Jemez Springs. They had played a slot machine--called "The Jewels of Isis!--and wanted to give Ardantane the winnings. When they found out how close we were to hitting the $32,000 mark, they pulled out checkbooks and put us over the top! Thank you ladies!
 
But we ALL did it together. This first phase of the fundraising drive has secured the mortgage payments for two full years (2007 and 2008). Now we have a goal of $44,000 for 2007--all of which will go directly toward paying off the principal on the mortgage loan.
 
We'll repeat the effort in 2008... and burn the bank mortgage!
