Classes for MARCH, 2007
Sat-Sun Mar. 3-4 Ethics for Pagan Leaders Ardantane
Amber & Scott Leadership
The Good, the Bad, and the Muggley
How do we know when we are leading or participating with honesty, integrity,
and honor? What guidelines can light our way through the murky landscape of
Pagan relationships and politics? How do Pagan standards of ethical behavior
differ from those in the muggle world that surrounds us, and how are they the
same? Join is for a weekend of lively discussion, scenarios familiar and
unfamiliar, exercises and resources. Discuss both ethical theory and the
application of theory to situational ethics. Emerge with your path more clearly
marked, by your own hand and heart. Along the way: gorgeous scenery, tasty snacks
and beverages, fun companions on the journey of discovery.
Amber K is the author of Covencraft, True Magick, and other books on Magick
and Paganism; she has been a Wiccan priestess for 25 years, was First
National Officer of Covenant of the Goddess for three terms, and is nationally known
as a Craft teacher.
Scott Chisholm Lamont has been a lifelong pagan. First called by the Goddess
in the foothills of the Canadian Rockies as a young teen, he has been expl
oring and expanding his Magickal skills in healing, environmental and political
activism, and community building ever since. A Wiccan Priest in the West
Coast Eclectic Tradition, he has taught at the coven and community level, as
well as for Ardantane. He is the High Priest of the Circle of the Winter Moon,
and a nursing educator at UNM Hospitals. A certified mediator and trained
consensus facilitator, he is currently working on a teaching resource for the use
of consensus by formal organizations. He can be reached at

Intended for anyone that is exploring their own mortality, facing the death of a
loved one, working as a caretaker or clergy, or anyone that feels called to work
with the departed, this is an intense weekend of discussion, visioning, and
experiential exercises designed to explore beliefs and fears, death
trajectories and being with the dying, communication skills, working with medical

Sat-Sun Mar. 17-18 The Art of Divination Ardantane Tom
& Karen Taylor Magickal Arts
The divinatory arts give us insight into our situations, our endeavors, and
ourselves. This weekend intensive offers a broad survey of divinatory tools
and practices. Learn to use oracles such as tarot, runes, and I Ching; work
with scrying methods such as crystal gazing; develop your intuitive capacity
and learn to receive wisdom from animals, plants, and places. Students who have
their own favorite divination tool or method are encouraged to bring it with
them and share with the class. Beyond the "how to" aspects, the class will
also touch on divination ethics, how to maintain a strong divination practice
over time, and the different challenges presented by reading for oneself and
for others.
Tom Little (Starweaver) has been teaching at Ardantane since 2003, where he
is presently dean of the School of Magickal Arts. He is a Wiccan priest,
co-author (with Mary K. Greer) of Understanding the Tarot Court.Tom has served
on the Ardantane board of directors since 2002. At various times, he has been
active in the Unitarian Universalist church, the Coyote Willow chapter of the
Covenant of Unitarian Universalist Pagans in Albuquerque, Prism Wheel
teaching coven in Santa Fe, and the international tarot community. We has presented
workshops at the World Tarot Congress in Chicago and the Toronto Tarot
Symposium.
Tom has degrees in physics and computer science, and holds a PhD in
astronomy. He has worked as a university professor and technical writer, and is
currently a health physicist at Los Alamos National Laboratory. His hobbies
include cooking, gardening, and artwork.
Sat-Sun Mar. 24-25 Path of the Shaman Ardantane Kristin &
Digby Shamanic
(Shamanism 101)
This weekend intensive provides students with a firm foundation in the
basics of shamanic practice. Following the creation of sacred space, we discuss
shamanism as a living, evolving path, introducing participants to the common
elements shared by early, indigenous, and modern shamanic traditions. The
roles and responsibilities of "shaman" will be investigated throughout the
weekend.
You can expect to:
· Experiment with trance induction and protection methods
· Travel the paths of the Otherworlds
· Establish conscious working relationships with spirit allies and
power objects
· Connect deeply with the natural world and the spirits of place
· Gain insight into the Shadow side
· Learn to effectively use dreaming and creativity in your practice
· Craft powerful ceremony
· Get a taste of basic healing methods.
This is our basic workshop and no experience is required to attend this
course.
Contact the Dean for approval of equivalent outside courses.

& Az Leadership
To Be A Priest
An exploration of the many roles, responsibilities, and delights of priest-
and priestesshood, for experienced clergy, spiritual beginners, and everyone
in between. What do priestesses and priests do? How is it like, or different
from, the work of rabbis, ministers, pastors, and shamans? Do you have a
calling or vocation as a spiritual leader, and if so, which one of the many
specialties would fit you best? Or have you done it for years and realize it’s
time for a change? How can you avoid burnout, and make the work joyful and
renewing? What resources and networks can support you?
The program will include some lecture, much discussion, experiential ex
ercises, and rituals to celebrate, refresh, and renew you. As always, glorious
scenery, yummy snacks, cozy overnight accommodations, wonderful Pagan friends,
and exciting new things to learn.
