So who is this Tom Waters guy, anyhow?

Tom Little (AKA Seusomon Starweaver) has been teaching and volunteering at
Ardantane for many years. And he's recently married a lovely lady named
Karen. Both will be taking the name Waters. He's decided to simplify his magical
name as well, to simply Starweaver.

As to the significance of the name Waters, ask him the next time you see
him. It's a charming story.

Best wishes to Tom and Karen Waters!

August Beaver days

Saturday, August 11th
Sunday, August 26th

No doubt more will be scheduled as we get closer to the day.

We'll get started at 8:00 am (you can arrive later if you need to) and work
as long as feels good. Free cold beverages and lunch, and $35 in Beaver Bucks
for those who work 6 hours.

Ladder teams will be trimming and taping seams, and high teams will be
putting on the rubberized roofing compound and installing more panels.

I believe we are down to the final level, ready to install the windows,
doors, and final panels!

Fundraising
We reached our goal of $32,000 for the land fund in 2006. Our goal for
2007 is $44,000. We are not on target, or even close. We have only about
$7,000 so far this year.
What can you do to help? Obviously, if you can sit down and write a nice,
generous check, that would be great. But not all of us can do that. You can
also volunteer your time, attend a class, bring a friend to class, put up
flyers for classes, or arrange a fund raiser.
We can pay off the bank mortgage and save about $60,000 in interest over the
next few years. Once we buy out the remaining staff shares
(interest-free!), then the whole thing will belong to Ardantane, Inc. – and to all of us in
the Pagan community, and to our children, and our descendants.

What: Sacred Ways of Change
Sponsor: School of Magic & Witchcraft
When: Sat-Sun August 25-26

Where: Ardantane
Instructors: Starweaver & Amber K

Theurgy is a magickal practice in which we work intimately with deity. This
weekend intensive looks at different models of the relationship between gods
and humans, and how the relationship changes as we grow in spirit. The course
covers various techniques for communing with deity: prayer, meditation,
devotional works, invocation, and aspecting. We will be looking at personal
growth and transformation as a kind of "hero's journey" mediated by deity, and
reflecting on the rewards and challenges of each stage in the journey. Students
are encouraged to come prepared to work with a particular deity (already
familiar to them) for the weekend.
Tom Waters (Starweaver) has been teaching at Ardantane since 2003, where he
is presently dean of the School of Magic & Witchcraft. He is a Wiccan priest,
and co-author of Understanding the Tarot Court.
Seusomon Starweaver has served on the Ardantane board of directors since
2002. At various times, he has been active in the Unitarian Universalist
church, the Coyote Willow chapter of the Covenant of Unitarian Universalist Pagans
in Albuquerque, and the international tarot community. We has presented
workshops at the World Tarot Congress in Chicago and the Toronto Tarot Symposium.
Seusomon Starweaver has degrees in physics and computer science, and holds
a PhD in astronomy. He has worked as a university professor and technical
writer, and is currently a health physicist at Los Alamos National Laboratory.
His hobbies include cooking, gardening, and artwork.

Amber K is the author of True Magick, Ritualcraft, and other books on the
Craft and magick. She is also the Executive Director of Ardantane and serves on
its faculty. Amber has been a professional Training Specialist for the
federal government, commercial and non-profit organizations, religious
organizations, and the enterprises of an Indian Pueblo.
